Welcome to Our Newly Designed Site!

Dear Healing Center Friends,

Welcome to our new web site! We are excited to make this change with the help of Liz Andrade of CMD+SHIFT Design, our talented volunteers Abigail Carter and Tom Monahan, and The Healing Center staff. We hope that this new format will allow us to support more adults, children, and families who are grieving and to offer additional support to our current Healing Center clients and friends.

Please let us know what you think – and tell your friends. I know that after I was widowed, every time someone I knew heard about someone else who was experiencing grief, I was the person they called. I am sure many of you have had similar experiences. We are the ones who others turn to when they have a friend or family member who is bereaved or about to be bereaved. People consider us the experts and in many ways, that is true. We hope that the new look of our web site will make it easier to support people who are looking for resources, whether or not they live in the Seattle area. Please let us know if you have ideas about improving our website, including links to sites that have helped you, books that you loved, articles, grief support organizations in other parts of the country or anything that will enhance what our site offers.

When we started our first support groups for younger widowed men and women in 1991, websites were absolutely not the way people found support. We have come a long way since that beginning. Twelve years ago, when we were still known as Widowed Young Person’s Support, Diane Brady, a support group member, designed our first ever web site. Thank you Diane, for getting us started. Diane is a long time Healing Center supporter and Visionary Club Member. Today, approximately half of our clients find us through the web.

Again, welcome to this new web site. We will continue to grow it to meet the needs of the people we serve. We welcome your comments and suggestions. Our Healing Center Community continues to grow and change in response to the feedback we receive from our clients and supporters.

Please send us your thoughts about our new look: info@HealingCenterSeattle.org

Take care!
