Dear Healing Center Friends,
I can’t believe it is September! It is getting closer to the time when I will retire as Executive Director of The Healing Center. I am excited about this change and have been envisioning it for some time. I believe that the timing is not only right for me, but for The Healing Center as well. Though I will miss being at the center of this organization, I am thrilled that our agency is in a place where I feel comfortable stepping aside.
In the last five years we have really solidified our place in the Seattle community. We have a central location and are serving more than 200 families each month. We have an amazing Board of Directors, a strong and dedicated staff, and a loyal donor base; and most importantly, we have wonderful clients and client families who truly appreciate our services.
When I brought together our founding Board in 2000, I had a vision for what we could create as a community. I believe that today that vision has become a shared reality. In the beginning, it was easy for me to wear many hats, including Executive Director, Development Director, Program Director and Counselor. After ten incredible years of growth, it is now time for us to have an Executive Director who can lead us into the future.
I am thrilled to announce that we have hired Elizabeth (Libbie) Stellas (pictured) as The Healing Center’s next Executive Director. You will love Libbie. She is warm and caring and embraces our mission wholeheartedly. She has a strong background in non-profit management and fundraising, including valuable capital campaign experience.
Please know that I will continue, as always, to be a part of The Healing Center. I look forward to our 10th Anniversary celebration on October 16th as we honor our past and prepare to take our organization to a most wonderful next place. Thank you so much for your continued support.
With much love and gratitude,
