Tom’s New Opportunity
It is with mixed emotions that The Healing Center says farewell to our Program Director, Tom
Freeman. Tom has moved on to a position as a research therapist, for a long-ran
ge study being conducted as a joint venture between Seattle Children’s Hospital, the University of Washington, and UCLA. We are incredibly grateful for the lives he has supported at The Healing Center and we know our programs and families are stronger because of his leadership. Seattle Children’s Hospital, UW and UCLA are very lucky to have him.
As The Healing Center transitions from Tom’s leadership, we are making personnel shifts and calendar changes to support more families. We are going to test these changes throughout the next few months and tweak as necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your comments and concerns. We are here to serve you and if we can do that better, please give us the opportunity to do so.
New Clinical Supervisor – Jennifer McCormick
We are welcoming Jennifer McCormick to our community as our new Clinical Supervisor. Jen is currently the SOS facilitator at the King County Crisis Clinic, for both the open and closed bereavement support groups. She has also worked for Ele’s Place in Michigan, another Dougy Center modeled grief support organization for families. Jen will serve as the back-up facilitator for all of our groups and she will provide support for intakes, clinical internships/externships, and the clinical staff.
