New 55+ Walking Group

New 55+ Walking Group

Exciting news! The Healing Center was recently awarded a grant from King County Department of Community and Human Services to support and build community for seniors (ages 55+) in King County. The idea we proposed to the county was to have weekly walks for grieving senior adults to build community, engage in healthy activity, and reduce isolation. They liked it!

Starting Friday, August 1st, The Healing Center will sponsor 10 weeks of these walks, and you are invited!

Walks will be led by Linda Dahl, MSW, RN. Linda is a retired nurse and administrator who spent her career with Group Health home health and hospice program. In retirement, she has volunteered as a Health Advocate and she has a passion for senior health and wellness.

WHERE: Green Lake and Seward Park (alternating every other week)

WHEN: Every Friday August 1st – October 3rd, 10am to noon

WHO: Members of The Healing Center community aged 55+, their families, friends, and neighbors (any 55+ people who might enjoy our walks)

Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring clothing layers, a water bottle, a snack, sunscreen, or anything else you’ll need to spend a few hours walking outside.
