COVID-19 Communication
You have likely heard about the increasing concerns for the coronavirus with new cases being confirmed in the Seattle area. The Healing Center continues to monitor the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), as more cases are confirmed locally and nationally. Please know that we are adhering to the U.S. EPA’s Emerging Pathogen Policy regarding cleaning disinfectants effective against the COVID-19 virus and also the CDC’s guidance for planning and response to the corona virus. We will follow and align with up-to-date local, state, and federal public health guidelines. Additionally, we will communicate with you any changes or recommendations as soon as possible via email and Facebook.
We understand this information can cause heightened concern, however, it is better to be prepared and practice preventative actions. We strongly encourage the following in helping to prevent the spread of any illness:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Consult your healthcare provider if you or your child has health conditions that put you at increased risk.
In addition to this, we are taking extra care to clean and disinfectant common areas and surfaces at the center. We urge you to everyone to use their best judgement in attending groups, as we serve a wide variety of participants, including some individuals at higher risk for infection and complications.
