Volunteers are the heart and soul of The Healing Center. We have people who volunteer their time in a variety of ways:
- Facilitating Groups
- Office Help
- House Maintenance
Interested in facilitating groups?
We require all individuals interested in facilitating to complete a 15 hour training that we provide. The Volunteer Facilitator Training is designed to teach the skills needed to facilitate in The Healing Center’s grief support groups. We ask those who take the training to commit to volunteering in a group for at least a year. The Volunteer Facilitator Training is an intense experience and there are many opportunities to develop self-awareness and explore your own stories of grief and loss. It is recommended that volunteers have an established support system (personal and/or professional) before taking the training.
We will contact you about whether we can offer you a spot in the next training. Decisions will be made based on The Healing Center’s current needs and applicants’ availability and schedule flexibility. After the training and if you are selected to be a facilitator, please note that a background check will be done before you begin volunteering.
Our facilitator training on March 14th and March 15th has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. As soon as a new date is selected, we will notify all interested parties.
If you are interested in this training or have other questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Interested in internship or practicum placement?
We currently are not accepting applications for internship or practicum placements. When we have internship opportunities available, we will post the job descriptions on this page.
