It’s starting to seem like in recent years on November 1st, people are putting away the halloween ghosts and goblins and immediately bringing out the jingle bells. With the holiday craze starting so early, so does the stress and pressure that comes with it. For those who have lost a loved one it can be a season of amplified grief, pressure to “do it all”, and a revival of holiday memories that now are bittersweet -making holiday traditions hard to face.
To calm you from the storm we’ll be posting tips and suggestions on Fridays on our blog as well as little reminders along the way on our Facebook page. If you’d like more support, consider attending out Surviving the Holidays Workshop led by Jeanne Lowman and Marshall Peabody on November 23rd from 1-5 PM. This will be followed by our November Potluck at 6 PM. Click here for more information.
Soaring Spirits International is also a good resource that offers support during the holidays. Consider “liking” their Facebook page to see their daily Holiday Hope Tips that will be posted through January 1st.
Please remember through these ups and downs that you are not along. Let your Healing Center community support you and remember that you can support others in your Healing Center community.
